Foods and
Nutrition
Issues
A number of emerging trends and issues
make the foods and nutrition arena increasingly competitive. Pioneer
helps food manufacturers and processors gain insight into how
opportunities and risks are shifting for their business.
New product development is becoming
increasingly competitive and time-critical. American consumers are
becoming more and more sophisticated and health-aware, and have much more
information at their fingertips with which to make purchase
decisions. Obesity and its health consequences are rapidly
developing into global problems.
A prime example of a critical emerging
issue is the recent FDA ruling requiring food manufacturers to add trans
fat ingredient information to product nutrition labels. Public awareness
of the potential health issues associated with this common food ingredient
is increasing, with strong implications for the food business. It is
imperative for manufacturers and processors to monitor levels of awareness
and – more importantly – how this awareness will translate into food
purchase decisions.
Multi-client Opportunity
Pioneer is addressing the
trans fat issue/opportunity today. We are developing a multi-client program
to monitor and analyze this emerging issue. Pioneer has already conducted
a nationally representative baseline survey to measure current levels of
nutritional label reading along with awareness of the FDA trans fat
ruling. Please contact Bill Tyner (btyner@pioneer.bz)
for information on purchasing this report and subscribing to the
multi-client program.
The
benefits of joining this multi-client trans fat program are many:

Track
in detail the emerging public awareness of this issue
